Laurence Decore Award for Student Leadership

Made available in 1986 by Alberta Student Aid, the Laurence Decore Award for Student Leadership was created to recognize those post-secondary students who have demonstrated outstanding dedication and leadership to fellow students and to their community. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Be an Alberta resident.
• Be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Person (visa students are not eligible).
• Be enrolled full-time (minimum 60% course load) at a designated post-secondary institution in the year of nomination.
• Display commitment to one or more of the following areas: student government, student societies, clubs or organizations.
• Exhibit active involvement in either student organizations at the provincial or national level, or in non-profit community organizations.
• Receive the support of a staff or faculty member who will provide a letter of reference (optional).
