TransCanada's Aboriginal Educational Entrance Award

Made available to Lakeland College students in 1991, TransCanada’s Aboriginal Educational Entrance Award is designed to encourage and assist Aboriginal students (status and non-status Indians, Métis and Inuit) to obtain undergraduate post-secondary education related to the oil and gas Industry. Qualifying programs include: University Transfer, Power Engineering Technician, Process & Power Engineering, Business Administration diploma, Environmental Conservation & Reclamation, Land Stewardship & Conservation, and General Environmental Sciences. Awarded to a student who meets the following criteria:
• Is of Aboriginal ancestry.
• Shows leadership and involvement in high school and community.
• Maintain a full course load in the chosen program.
• Possess promising academic qualifications.
• Requires financial support to pursue an education.
