The Phil Allen Memorial Scholarship was created in 2016 after the passing of beloved Professor Phil Allen. Six classmates from the School of Business at Lakeland College (Lloydminster Campus) desired to mark the moment and celebrate the impact Phil had on each of their lives, ultimately investing funds in the lives of future Bachelor of Commerce students. They believe this small gesture will create a positive force for good, much like Phil himself.
Impact
Phil Allen was a beloved professor, coach, and community builder. Part of the Lakeland College family from 2003 to 2014 he made an indelible impact on his students, student-athletes, and the broader post-secondary community. He passed away in 2016, and his legacy truly lives on in the lives of everyone he impacted.
This group of alumni warmly said, “We think of Phil often and believe he’d be proud of us. We’re living exactly the way he taught us to: with passion, intent, and purpose.”
