Impact
The educational award for Indigenous Students honours the legacy left by Tyler Swaren, a Matrix Solutions employee who passed away in 2006.
Tyler worked as a hydrogeologist at Matrix Solutions from 2004 to 2006. He was a talented and committed employee, a thoughtful team member, and a fantastic mentor. His assets included a strong work ethic, impeccable honesty, unwavering values, technical competency, and an easygoing and approachable nature.
Since 2006 Matrix Solutions has sponsored a scholarship in Tyler’s name. In 2021 the scholarship was evolved to provide support to Indigenous students pursuing careers in environmental studies. This aligns with Matrix’s goal to build meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities while promoting greater diversity in the environmental industry.
